Testimony of Kudakwashe Dzakatira

Blue Eagle High School

CareerBuild Graduate 2015

Attending the CareerBuild programme has helped me a lot, such that as I stand today I am confident of what I want to do after high school. It has built me to such an extent of being equipped to face any adversities or obstacles without crumbling. All the uncertainties I have before about choosing the right career, vanished immediately after completing the programme.

Today as I stand as a proud product of CareerBuild, I have been inspired to be an inspiration to my peers. I have been motivated to motivate others. I have been uplifted to help uplift and light up my generation. All thanks to the CareerBuild and its sponsors, my life is upwards and forwards only.

Testimony of Patience Mogoboya

CareerBuild Graduate 2007

I was in the 1st group of CareerBuild in Alexandra. The programme helped me decided what I wanted to do after Secondary school. At that time I did not know of the career opportunities available out there and Career Build provided the information. Resulting in me knowing that I wanted to be a CA at a tender age. We got exposed to different environments and went on various workshops equipping us on how to dress professionally, telephone etiquette, got the feel of the business environment. We were assigned mentors and I am still in contact with my mentor. Today I am a BCOM Graduate and am pursuing my dream to become a CA.

Testimony of Mokgadi Raphiri

CareerBuild Graduate 2007

I was born and raised in Alexandra, a disadvantaged community in the South of Johannesburg.

I matriculated in 2002 and instead of studying further I saw myself working in the retail industry. I was absolutely satisfied with my situation because I did not know any better. I lacked the exposure and information in respect of education and most important about who am I and where I wanted I see myself in 10 years. In 2007, CareerBuild was introduced to me through a local church I was part of and my life changed for the better since. CareerBuild does not only focused on academics but on domestic issues that ultimately restricts one to reach their full potential. CareerBuild gave me an opportunity to have a glimpse at  the future and picture how my life will be in 10 years’ time. The programme helped me realise my passion and partnered me with a mentor Anne Arnolds, who encouraged me and made me see life differently.Though CareerBuild was for a short period, it had a tremendous impact in my life. After the programme, I resigned from my retail employment and pursued my dream. Today I have a BA Degree in Communication Science through university of South Africa. I work for a reputable company and running my catering business.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
